All our parents have had a panel of genetic testing done for diseases that affect the Australian Shepherd. Maggie and Morgan are cleared on a panel of DNA health tests. These tests include: Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA). Cone Degeneration (CD), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Hereditary Cataracts (HC), Hyperuricosuria (HUU), Intestinal Cobalamin Malabsorption (IGS), Multidrug Resistance (MDR1), Multifocal Retinopathy 1 (CMR1) Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 6 (NCL6), and Progressive Retinal Atrophy Progressive Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA/PRCD). Both Hereditary Cataracts (HC) and Intestinal Cobalamin Malabsorption (IGS) are for Australian Shepherd Type.
To reserve or "hold" a puppy, please email us at SaltCreekAussies@yahoo.com or call 352-542-7517 or text 941-221-0167. We require a $250 non-refundable "hold" deposit to reserve a puppy. A new puppy should not be bought on a "whim" or and impulse. Please be ready for your new journey, a commitment that could last up to 15 years, or longer. If you've never owned an Aussie, we encourage you to research the breed, as Aussies are not a match for everyone. Salt Creek Farm's Pet/Companion contract is only for responsible pet ownership and requires spaying or neutering your puppy.
We reserve the right to enter into Breeding/Show contracts with specific breeders who are knowledgeable about the Australian Shepherd, who follow the breed standard defined by AKC and ASCA, who will be responsible for health testing, and who breed Australian Shepherds exclusively.
Salt Creek Farm also has a non-deposit list of interested buyers at any given time. If you want to be added to the list, the first step is for a phone conversation with us. If the litters we currently have are reserved, you can be added to an upcoming litter.
All puppies have been on a deworming schedule prior to going home. All puppies are microchipped, tails docked, and dewclaws removed.
Each of our puppies go home with age-appropriate vaccination, DNA health reports of the dam and sire, Pedigree of the dam and sire, puppy health record, signed copy of the "health guarantee," registration application with AKC, and/or ASCA, and/or UKC, and an AKC Reunite microchip enrollment form. If you live in the state of Florida, you will receive a State Certification by a licensed Vet. You will also receive a schedule for the next vaccinations. My commitment as the breeder of your puppy, is to be available at any time during the dog's life, to answer any concerns or questions. Your puppy will also have a package of food, toys, collar and leash, travel bowl and blanket.
